What you should know,
before you sign.

Every operations contract raises the same three questions, where the data sits, what runs day‑to‑day, what happens when something breaks. For each one we put a clear contractual promise on the table, not just a marketing line.

Where does my data live?"

Your data stays in Switzerland. Contractually guaranteed.

Hosting with Swiss infrastructure partners in Swiss data centres. Swiss DPA and GDPR compliant. No CLOUD‑Act access. Your data is explicitly never used for AI training, neither by us nor by our partners.

What happens day‑to‑day?"

Updates, patches, monitoring. Without you having to ask.

Scheduled maintenance, security patches within 48 h of release, monthly performance reports. Interfaces are kept current, models updated when needed. You receive a written status report every quarter.

What if something goes wrong?"

Defined response times. A human on the phone. Not at midnight, but reliably.

Standard response within 4 working hours, Managed Service within 1 h, Enterprise SLA individually up to 24/7. No ticket carousel, no offshore first‑level support, you speak directly with the person who knows your system.

Swiss Hosting

Data

Hosting on secure Swiss infrastructure. Full data sovereignty, Swiss data centres, Swiss operators, no US CLOUD Act, no transatlantic data transfer. For health, financial and government data the only defensible choice.

Data Sovereignty

Data

Your data stays your data. Contractually excluded: use for AI training, third‑party access, hand‑over to foreign authorities without Swiss legal assistance. Swiss DPA and GDPR compliance aren't a feature, they're a prerequisite.

Care

Ongoing maintenance, security patches within 48 h, feature updates by agreement, version management, rollback path. Your system stays current and secure, without you having to track the latest CVE notice.

Care and oversight for every interface: API versioning, rate limiting, error handling, migration when the major AI providers ship breaking changes. When OpenAI or Anthropic retire an endpoint, you don't notice, because we've already migrated.

What you should
know.

The questions that come up before every operations contract. Answered briefly and honestly.

Where is my data hosted?

By default in Swiss data centres with established Swiss infrastructure partners. Your data does not leave Switzerland, not even for backups or failover. Concretely: no US CLOUD Act access, no transatlantic data transfer, no extraterritoriality issues.

For projects with special compliance requirements (e.g. FINMA‑regulated financial services or healthcare providers) we can deploy on private infrastructure or in your own data centre on request. We clarify that in the kick‑off conversation.

What happens during an outage?

On the Basic tier we respond within 4 working hours, on Managed Service within 1 working hour, on Enterprise SLA by individual agreement up to 24/7. Response doesn't mean "someone has seen the ticket", it means "someone is working on the fix".

For Managed and Enterprise customers automated monitoring also runs around the clock. Most problems are detected and resolved before your users notice, and you receive a written incident analysis afterwards.

How fast do you really respond when there's a problem?

The contractual response times aren't marketing, they're commitments: Basic < 4 working hours, Managed < 1 working hour, Enterprise per SLA down to 15 minutes. Working hours mean Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00, outside those hours the agreed on‑call rota applies.

In practice we're usually faster. Because fdk.ai isn't a 15‑person support centre with ticket escalation, but an operator with a direct line to the engineer who built your system. And because our monitoring already knows about most problems before you report them.

Can you also take over systems you didn't build yourselves?

Yes, under one condition: we run a paid takeover assessment first (typically from CHF 1,500 depending on system size). We review architecture, code quality, security posture, dependencies and documentation. Only once it's clear what we'd actually be operating do we make a binding operations offer.

That protects both sides: you don't get a shock invoice when we later uncover legacy issues, and we don't sign an operations contract for a system whose state we don't know. For well‑documented systems it's quick, for organically grown systems it takes a bit longer, but it's always fairer than blind flat rates.

Can I export my data if I move on?

Yes, any time and in full. On request you receive a complete data export in standard formats (SQL dumps, JSON, CSV, PDF, depending on the data type), the full configuration documentation and, if needed, an orderly hand‑over to the new operator.

Contractually assured: no lock‑in clauses, no data‑hostage tactics, no poaching penalties for employees. We earn our keep by making you want to stay, not by making it impossible to leave.
